Cochran's Crossing Village Homes For Sale in The Woodlands
Cochran’s Crossing is perhaps the most centrally located village in The Woodlands. It is named for
the family that once co-owned the lumber company that controlled much of the timberland that The
Woodlands now occupies. The Cochran family of Montgomery owned the Grogan-Cochran Lumber Company
from which two of the villages get their names.
The Woodlands Country Club and the 27 hole Palmer Golf Course are located in Cochran’s Crossing
which was begun in 1983.

Recreation Center is located in Bear Branch Park which also
features a ‘bark’ park. Another of the 12 public swimming pools exclusively for Woodlands residents
is in Shadowbend Park which also has playgrounds and sports fields.
Three elementary schools service the area, depending on which neighborhoods within Cochran’s Crossing
you live. Galatas, David and Powell Elementary schools (K-4) are all exemplary rated by the Texas
Education Agency. Collins Intermediate School (5 & 6) and the Ninth Grade Campus feed into The
Woodlands High School (10 – 12.)
There are several pre-school and day care facilities located in Cochran’s Crossing. The village shopping
center features a grocery store, drug store, several restaurants, a video rental store, gas station, dry
cleaner and various other stores and service providers making it convenient to run errands and never stray
far from home.
The Shadowbend YMCA of South Montgomery County is located here and offers many classes and activities for
adults and children.
According to the latest statistics from the Houston Association of Realtors, Cochran’s Crossing has almost
5,300 residences and a median appraised value of $209,125 with a median square foot price of $81.28. The
average year built was 1991 and since 1995 the price per square foot has gone from $59.95 to $80.51 in 2005
(the last year statistics are available.)
